Desperately looking for Boyfriend...

Don't get me wrong, I'm happily married. But I've been looking all over for some boyfriend shorts! Since the super slouchy Boyfriend Jeans craze never felt too suitable for me, I've decided that the shorter, summer-friendly version of this denim trend is what I want to try. What I like about these shorts is that they can be dressed up or down. They'll look equally cute worn with flats, a plain t-shirt and a vest; or with some killer ankle boots and a dressy top. I'm afraid of ordering them online because I think it's a style that must be tried on to assure a nice fit. I've tried on a couple of styles (zara and helmut lang), with no luck...they didn't fit right. I've got my eyes on AG Adriano Goldsmith's Ex Boyfriend Shorts, in the photos they look baggy enough to look "boyfriendish", but not too much as in to make the look saggy.

Sometimes I wish I smoked...

When I see photos like these, I wish I smoked. I know it's a bad bad habit, but the coolness and style in which they do it just makes me want to want a cigarette! Thank God, I can't stand the smell and have no idea how to even hold one, so I would never look even close to glamorous trying it.
I know that smoking kills and I am a convinced non-smoker. Just wanted to share these photos I love.

From Top: Kate Moss, Edie Sedgwick, Brad Pitt, Erin Wasson, Frank Sinatra and Maria Felix

Isabel Marant

I'm currently loving EVERYTHING from Isabel Marant.
Loving how the designer mixes hippie-bohemian, eclectic, rocker and feminine.
Especially loving the boots from both, her spring/summer, and autumn/winter 2009 collections. Studded ankle boots and over-the-knee black suede boots seem to be at the top of my wishlist for winter buys this year. From skinny pants, to slouchier pants, to dresses and mini-skirts, these two boot styles apparently look great with everything!

While we wait for the Parisian designer to open her LA and NY boutiques this summer, her stuff can only be found overseas.

I found these boots from Jeffrey Campbell that are similar to the ones in her ss09 collection (suede slouch flat boots $220, shopbop.com); and some studded ankle boots from Steve Madden (Blazzer $150, stevemadden.com) that can help achieve the look.

RIP

Since everyone seems to be extremely busy dedicating posts and tributes to the controversial life of Michael Jackson, I decided to dedicate mine to Farrah Fawcett. She was both an American Icon and an international sex symbol from the 70's. The formerAngel (from, of course, Charlie's Angels) caused a big stir among women of all ages, who tried to copy her notorious hairstyle -"The Farrah".

Take it Essie

Hands down, my favorite beauty buy is Essie's nail polish. I've been a faithful fan for quite some time now. The cute little square bottles, the variety of colors, and the long-lasting product made me say good bye to other brands (even OPI).

Essie has a super wide variety of colors, you will surely find exactly what you want.

My colors of choice for nails are always between pink, red and dark plums. My all-time favorite is “Ballet Slippers”, a very glossy pale pink that looks clean and is great all year round (I used this one on my wedding day!); for red nails I use “Tiny Wine-ey”; and “Wicked” for dark plum nails. My latest purchase is “Punchy Pink” from the neon collection. A pink so fluorescent that’s almost retina-searing, but I find it fun to show off with your summer gladiator sandals.

Factory 41

I recently discovered this fascinating little store walking my way to the supermarket (it is just one block away from my house). The owner, Tina Hacking, is a British woman who was brought by destiny to Mexico City 16 years ago. She has always been into anything vintage and retro.
Tina used to run a Prop business, specializing in retro furniture from the 50's.
Now, she owns FACTORY 41. A lovely shop where you can find unique and fun items. She has a large selection of glitzy vintage jewelry, handbags and accessories. She also sells home deco accessories such as vases, mirrors, furniture.... Although the furniture selection there is small, she has a showroom at home. If you are interested, you can schedule a visit with her.
She also makes cushion pillows and wall art, combining vintage originals with new.
It's really worth a visit!!

And tomorrow, FACTORY 41 is having a sale event! with discounts from 20% off everything up to an extra 10% off if you pay cash.
From noon to 10 pm.
